God Will Provide...
But Not The Way You Expect
I was reading in Genesis, where God instructed Abraham to offer his son Isaac as a burnt offering. In this passage of scripture, there’s much for one to understand. In verses 7 and 8, Isaac asked his father where’s the lamb for the burnt offering and Abraham replied God will provide. Even though Abraham knew Isaac was the burnt offering, he could not bring himself to tell his son. He continued toward the event of the burnt offering, climbing the mountain and building the alter and bounding his son, taking forth the knife to slay Isaac, when the angel of the Lord called out to him, said Lay not thine hand upon the Lad...., and Abraham looked up and saw a ram caught in a thicket. He had no idea that God would provide the Ram. Isaac understood that God would provide the lamb, but had no idea the lamb was himself, but soon came to realization, he was the offering. At one point, neither Abraham nor Isaac knew that God would provide the ram in thicket, but they continued with the offering.
There’s the message of obedience, and the willingness to lie down or give up that which is meaningful to us, (sacrifice). But there is another lesson to be insightful of, which is making the preparation and pursuing the event regardless. Many Christian musicians and singers desiring to pursue music will often use the statement, “God will provide” and usually stop there.
They do not make the preparations towards their musical goals and will sit and wait, expecting God to send someone to finance the project and do everything for them, thus wasting time and accomplishing very little. One must willing to put forth their personal time and energy delivering out the plan, even if it means to financing the project out of their own pocket. God will provide, but not the way you expect.
The question is, How serious and committed are you concerning your musical gifts, talents and ministry?
